Biography

I grew up in the Chattanooga area, where I attended Ooltewah High school (many years ago). As an undergraduate, I attended Austin Peay State University where I recieved a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. I played on the women's golf team while at Austin Peay, and I continue to play golf in my spare time. I attended graduate school at the University of Tennessee, where I recieved a Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology. More specifically my area of concentration was Behavioral Neuroscience. I spent a signifcant amount of time in graduate school using animal models to investigate the neurobiological mechanisms underlying resistance to stress. I was hired at Dalton State in the fall of 2016 as an Assistant Professor of Psychology. Here at Dalton State, I teach Introductory Psychology (Psyc 1101), Psychological Studies (Psyc 2010), Brain and Behavior (4600) and Sensation and Perception (4250).
